尊敬的老师，亲爱的同学们:
大家早上好!今天我们演讲的题目是：珍爱生命，谨防溺水。
奥斯特洛夫斯基曾在书中写道： “人最宝贵的是生命。生命属于人只有一次。” “因为一场突如其来的疾病，一个意外的悲惨事件随时都有可能中断生命。”
生命是顽强的，因其顽强，因而敬畏；但生命同样也是脆弱的，因其脆弱，因而珍爱。
水是我们人类的生命之源，是人类生活必不可少的。但有时候水也会吞没了一些人的性命。近年来，溺亡已成为青少年、儿童意外死亡的头号“杀手”。据有关部门统计，我国平均每年因溺水死亡的人数约占正常死亡人数的50%以上，其中，青少年和儿童更是占比较重。
近期，更是有许多溺水事故发生在我们身边。2020年5月16日，河南信阳潢川县五名中学生溺水身亡，其中三人八年级，两人九年级； 5月17日，湖北省石首市，四名未成年人下水，三人身亡，一人获救。
幼小生命的逝去，不仅让家庭承受着巨大的痛苦，也带给社会无尽的伤痛。夏季是安全事故的高发季节，预防溺水事故无疑摆在了重要位置，为创建安全的学习生活环境，杜绝此类悲剧的发生，在此特向全校同学提出以下要求：
一，对自己负责：绝不参与没有家长陪同的游泳活动，绝不到危险、陌生的河塘游泳，绝不到河塘边垂钓鱼虾，绝不做危险举动，远离溺水杀手；
二，对家人负责：如果游泳，一定要在自己的家长陪同前提下，到安全的，正规的游泳场所游泳，一定要做好相应准备活动，防止溺水事件的发生；
三、对学校负责：遵守学校的各项规章制度，不断强化安全防范意识，学习相关的预防溺水知识，掌握溺水自救的基本知识和技能；
四、对他人负责：对于那些违反学校纪律，和私自外出游泳的行为，要坚决抑制、劝阻。
爱水，是人类的天性，这点我们无可厚非，尤其在眼下，酷暑即将来临，到清凉的水中游上一游，岂不快哉！但溺水事故在一念之间，生命第一要永放心间。毕竟，我们的人生要我们延续规划，我们的家庭等着我们去构建，我们的祖国期待我们的奉献。
生命诚可贵！下面请大家举起右手跟我一起共同宣誓：
我郑重宣誓，认真学习溺水安全知识，坚决做到六“不”：
一，不私自下水游泳；
二，不擅自与他人结伴游泳；
三，不在没有家长或监护人带领的情况下游泳；
四，不到没有安全设施，没有救护人员的水域游泳；
五，不到不熟悉的水域游泳
六，如遇溺水事故，不会水性，不擅自下水施救。
珍爱生命，远离危险，争做文明学生。

Distinguished teachers and dear students,
Good morning.
Today our topic is Cherish life, be alert to swimming and drowning.
Ostrovsky once wrote in a book, ‘a person's dearest possession is life.’ ‘It is given to us only once.’ All of us could lose our life just because of a unexpected disease or a sudden accident.
Life is of course tenacious, and therefore we should show our sincere respect to life.
Life is also frail, so everyone of us should cherish it.
Water, as the source of life for us human beings, is quite necessary in our daily life. But it can also
devour people’s lives. In recent years, drowning has become the No. 1 killer in the list of unexpected death for teenagers. According to statistics, the average mortality of drowning is 50% of the normal death toll, among which most of them are teenagers.
Nowadays, there are a lot more drowning accidents happening around us. On May 16, 2020, five
students from a middle school in Xinyang died of drowning. Among them, three students are in Grade 8 and two in Grade 9. On the next day, four teenagers in Hubei province went to swim without their parents’ permission, three dead, only one rescued.
The lost of these young lives not only made their own family suffer, but also caused much agony for the society. It is known to us all that summer is a season with frequent drowning accidents. So there is no doubt that we should regard it as the most important issue to prevent this tragedy from happening again and create a safe learning and living environment.
Hereby we make the following requests:
First, be responsible for yourself.
Never go to swim alone. Never swim in the dangerous rivers. Never fish near the river.
Second, be responsible for your family.
Go to swim with your parents in the safe swimming pool. And make good preparations before you step into the water.
Third, be responsible for your school.
Please obey the school rules and strengthen your awareness of safety. Learn about basic rescue skills of drowning.
Fourth, be responsible for others.
For those who violate the school rules and swim without permission, we should try to stop them.
The love for water is the human nature. What fun it is to swim in the cool water on a hot summer day! Especially at this time. But drowning may happen within a second. Life is so priceless and we should always bear safety in mind.
After all, we should make good plans for our life and our home is awaiting our construction. Our
mother country is expecting us to make contributions.
Life is precious. Let’s work together, cherish our life and be alert to swimming and drowning.
